Our client is a Belgian company active in the international trading of raw materials. With their offices based in Brussels they operate their activities directly with the producers in Africa to distribute products globally.

In order to sustain their quick growth and the business development that goes with it, they are currently looking to extend their commercial team with a Key Account Manager.


As the successful Key Account Manager - Trading - Raw Materials, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage your portfolio of raw materials sales

  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to satisfy both parties

  • Handle and process all contract aspects with both parties

  • Working closely with our partner factories

  • Monitor production quotas, advising on sales and market availability, as well as strategic commercial discussions.

  • Become an international market expert.

  • Monitor the market on a daily basis and develop a detailed understanding of it in order to maximise negotiations with customers and suppliers.

  • Monitor shipments from contract signature to actual delivery of goods in accordance with the specific terms of the contract.

  • Conduct sales visits with customers to expand the portfolio

  • Maintain good collaboration with existing customers

  • Take part in the negotiation of long-term contracts

  • Suggest and implement process improvements

  • Support your colleagues in carrying out administrative and logistical tasks.


As the successful Key Account Manager - Trading - Raw Materials, you will have the following requirements:

  • At least a Master Degree in Business Economics or equivalent by experience

  • At least 3 to 5 years' experience in the field of Sales & Key Account Manager on international level - ideally in the field of Raw Materials trading

  • Strong negotiations skills & excellent communication

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to build long term relationship

  • Autonomous & able to take strategic decisions under high pressure

  • Fluent in French & English is mandatory - Dutch is consider as a strong asset

  • Able & willing to travel regularly - up to 6 weeks per year abroad
