the Role

Reporting directly to the founder, you will contribute to Ohana’s activities by: Leading Ohana and clients’ public affairs strategies related to Supply chain policies: due diligence, forced labour, purchasing practices, supplier engagement, climate and biodiversity, Ohana’s pro-bono support to Protect Our Winter Europe, under the framework of1% For The Planet; Leading a small team on these topics. You will be actively involved in the supply chain policies at the start; Coordinating with the Head of circularity when relevant; Managing client accounts, with support of the team, within budget; Developing the transparency and supply chain practice and Ohana’s presence outside of the textile industry, with support from Ohana’s founder (meetings with potential clients, drafting proposals); Contributing to Ohana mission of driving change through awareness-raising by Delivering specific sessions in our webinar based services; Contributing to the company blog; Speaking at events on behalf of Ohana Public Affairs Qualifications & Requirements

Relevant work experience as EU public affairs expert in sustainability matters. Consultancy and/or in-house background is a plus; Account management and team management experience; Deep understanding of European policy making process and EU Institutions; Proven ability to develop high-impact, multi-level external advocacy programs; Solid knowledge of sustainability issues and ability to facilitate this knowledge into well- articulated arguments; Expertise in due diligence or reporting policies – experience in climate and biodiversity is a plus; Clear thinking/problem solving; ability to simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability and make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information; Deep interest in sustainability and in working with organisations driving positive change on sustainability and creating positive impacts through policies; Entrepreneurial mind set; Knowledge of how to create a positive and collaborative work environment; Ability to work and thrive as part of a small and dedicated team; Proven track-record in network building among EU Affairs professionals; Strong public affairs, diplomatic, analytical & planning skills and attention to details; Well organised and able to manage multiple priorities and varying pressures to meet measurable targets and strict deadlines; Enthusiasm, a focus on the client, a dynamic, quick-thinking approach to work, a good eye for detail and strong analytical skills; Fluent English skills (speaking and writing, public speaking) – additional languages are a plus. Fixed contract: basis of 40 hours / week Holidays: 32 days (based on 40 hours / week contract) + days between 25 December and 1 January offered Brussels based position – with the possibility to

work from home on Fridays and in case of on-line meetings all day; work remotely during institutions summer break (maximum 2 weeks) and before the end of the year break (maximum 1 week). To be approved by the manager a month in advance.

Travels, depending on clients’ needs and speaking opportunities. Salary: based on experience. Hospitalisation and pension schemes according to Belgian law. Hardware: laptop, extra screen, mouse, keyboard, stand for laptop, privacy screen.
